What is the Future of Technical writer


Dear friends do not confuse on the title. The title may looks little tricky but there is a certain meaning.

Its not about only my future. Its about the future of mine and as well as my friends who chose technical witting as a carrier path. 
Its about the Future of Technical Writer.

What is Future of Technical Writer?

Before discussing in the future of Technical writer, let us know what is the role and responsibility of a technical writer.

Technical writing has been around for a few centuries.
Throughout the centuries, technical writers play a mediator between the people who manufactured the product  and people who are used the product.

Technical writers are responsible to create technical documents with accurate technical information and neutral english. 
The documents should be written in clear and consign manner so that the users should understand easily.

Let's discuss what is the future of Technical Writer?

It very difficult to answer this question.
There is no straight answer for this question.
It can be answered in many ways based on the individual point of view.
I am trying explain the current scenario/trends for the technical writing in the below.

Now a days the lifestyle of the human got changed, everybody want to upgrade to new technology and new products day by day.

If you take a example of mobile phones, if I am not wrong, then mostly every month new model lunches.

Then If you take example of Automobile, it is similar race like mobile phones.

Along with this product, it is a norm to include the user manuals. This has led to a huge demand for professionals who possess the right skill sets required to write the technical documents. 
Many organizations started hiring professionals exclusively to write manuals/documents to all products. 
Eventually, they had their own style guides to follow, standards set for usage and so on to maintain uniformity across all departments.
To conclude this discussion, I can say that there is a huge demand for technical writers and illustrators with rich skill set.
One more thing for a technical writer is that, like any other profession, one has to be updated with the recent trends.
Please keep yourself updated with the market needs and be ready for new challenges.
Apart from the full time job, there are may freelancer jobs are available like: technical writing/graphic design which you can opt as a part time job and earn good amount of money.
